Strain Systems has announced another “first” in the industry: silo remote monitoring and control from Android-based smartphones.
The release of this new Android application, called SOLO Connexion,™ is part of the company’s vision of “data anywhere, anytime” for operators, owners, and managers of silo and tank facilities. The app communicates with the electronics in the Strain Systems SOLO™ weight and level measurement solution for bulk material storage and inventory control.
With SOLO Connexion the smartphone functions as an intelligent silo remote control, enabling users to get continuously updated, real-time readings of silo inventories as frequently as desired, around the clock, from anywhere in the world where they can access the Internet, whether via Wi-Fi or cellular network.
SOLO Connexion can be downloaded free from Google Play with the keyword SOLO Connexion. After completing a simple configuration interface, users can keep tabs on silo contents and alarm situations. Users must know the IP address of their SOLO electronics and make sure they can ping the address before launching the app.
